Airity Technologies was formed in 2015 by Luke Raymond and Johan Andreasson when both of them were PhD candidates at Stanford. Luke was part of a cutting-edge power electronics lab, and Johan was focused on plasmas as part of his physics program. Our proprietary core power supply technology is based on Luke’s PhD research, which spans high-frequency power electronics, high voltage DC, and radio frequency (RF) technology.
We did not get into tech hardware to copy the success of others. We are taking on tasks that were considered impossible just a few years ago, and it means there are no shortcuts sometimes. We know that a lot of amazing ideas “die” on the research lab bench, and we want to rescue those ideas and turn them into actual products that help . The advancement and progress of technology seems inexorable at times, but in reality it only happens because teams of really smart people work really hard for years on incredibly complex problems. That’s where we come in.
There has been significant R&D effort and progress in making low-voltage power electronics both compact and efficient over the last 20 years, but the underlying technology used in high-voltage power supplies hasn’t fundamentally changed in 40 years. We are here to change that.
Our mission is to develop world-changing products enabled by compact high voltage power conversion.
